This is to raise awareness about pranayam as it helps everyone in controlling and eventually curing their health conditions.
Also people born with a health condition do benefit by pranayam. You may not believe it, but try it – nothing to lose. If you are overwieght, you will lose weight until it is normal.
If you have been told that you have to keep taking medicine for the rest of your life, then pranayam is a must for you.
PRANAYAM is breathing exercises(part of Yoga). Ramdev has brought awareness of pranayam to the general public by holding six-day camps and television broadcasting via AASTHA throughout the world. (on SKY satellite 808 in UK)
These exercises help control and cure most health conditions - even conditions which do not have a cure.
So try to practice the three important pranayams(if not all seven).
There are 7 pranayams, but here we mention 3 of them which are most useful.
Bhastrika - Take a long deep breath into the lungs(chest not tummy) via the nose and then completely breathe out through the nose.
Duration 2-5 minutes.
Kapalbhati -(Do it before eating) Push air forcefully out through the nose about once per second. Stomach will itself go in(contract in). The breathing in will happen automatically. Duration 5-15 min. Start with 30 times or 1 minute and increase upto 5 mins minimum and upto 15 mins maximum. Not for pregnant women. Seriously ill people do it gently or take advice.
Establish a rhythm where you do about 60 per minute.
Vilom - Deep Breath-in through left nostril keeping
right nostril closed
then - Breath-out through right nostril keeping left nostril closed
then -Deep Breath-in through right nostril keeping left nostril closed
then - Breath-out through left nostril keeping right nostril closed
and repeat. (5-15 mins)
Tips : Breathe into lungs not into stomach. Do not hurry. Do it slowly. Rest whenever needed (in any pranayam).Can be done in sitting position, standing or lying in bed.
Pranayam is about getting more oxygen into the lungs and sending it around the body via blood to aid in body repair. Benefits people with all types of ailments including incurable ones. This has been practised by sages, but has been simplified and brought to the masses by Ramdev.
The extra oxygen travelling through the blood by these pranayams will help get rid of illness.
You can watch the program (on satellite or buy VCD/DVD) several times to do the pranayams properly. Ask other people about the benefits and whether you are doing it properly.
Before you start pranayam make a note of your weight, blood pressure and any other readings related to your condition and note these regularly so you notice the improvements. It can take upto nine months to see improvements depending on severity of condition. Change in weight, BP, diabetes, cholestrol will be noticed in weeks.

which some people are not using or getting rid off.
There is a Yoga pranayam program by Ramdev on AASTHA SKY satellite channel 808 in UK(Also broadcast throughout the world)
This program is from 5am to 7.30am (UK time) and 7pm to 8pm everyday.
So record this program on video cassettes for at least 7 days (more if you have spare cassettes to get rid off).
Keep the recordings and pass on to people who want to learn pranayam.
If you do not have SKY, then pass 7 videos(rewound) to people with SKY and ask them to record YOGA(Ramdev) for you.
Why 7 days? -Ramdev mentions different illnesses during the seven days and cures for children and women's problems using everyday items in the home. You can also record on DVD or hard disk recorder.
Tell others and correct them if they are not doing pranayam properly. To correct someone you need to watch how they do it. A lot of people are not doing it properly and are not benefitting fully.
Translate this into other language to benefit all parts of the world.
Carbondioxide is generated throughout the body and carried away by the blood to the lungs where it is expelled when you breathe out. The blood carries oxygen from the lungs to all parts of the body. The more carbondioxide you expel from the lungs(kapalbhati), the more oxygen will be absorbed by the blood and used to repair the body. That is why patients are given oxygen to help recovery. There is only 20 percent oxygen in the air we breathe, so in normal beathing a healthy person gets enough oxygen to survive. So anyone with a health condition definitely needs to beathe a lot more to get enough oxygen to service the body parts which need more repair work. The red blood cells(RBC) have a life of 120 days and platelets have a life of 8-10 days so increased production of these cells is needed to get better and so pranayam helps. The whole body is rebuilt every 9 months, so most conditions will have benefited over 9 months. It is important to continue pranayam for life to stay healthy. Pranayam(breathing) looks after the body software(heart,lungs,kidney,thyroid,liver) and Yoga asanas(physical exercise) looks after body hardware.
The brain needs a lot of oxygen – so memory and thinking power will improve – very good for children.
The eyesight and hearing will become better. Headache and migraine will disappear in days/weeks.

Lose weight for free just by breathing the free air.
To lose weight do kapalbhati for 20 minutes twice a day before food. Keep noting your weight everyday.The result will be noticed witihin days.
Less (6-7hrs) sleep will be need so you will not need to find time to do pranayam.
There are pressure points on your
hands and fingers which relate to different parts of the body. So
clapping and rubbing hands helps parts of the body. Clap generously
at functions and better your health.
